About the Artist
Darla Colinet | Wildlife & Nature Artist
I've always felt a deep connection to nature and the beauty of God's creation. As a Native American artist, I value the stories, wisdom, and strength found in the natural world. Whether it's the quiet confidence of a bison, the tenderness of a mother bear with her cubs, or the simple beauty of a flower, I see something worth remembering.
My journey to becoming an artist hasn't followed a straight path. Life has brought seasons of hardship, loss, healing, and wonderful new beginnings. Through them all, my faith in Jesus Christ has been my foundation. Those experiences have shaped not only who I am but also what I hope to share through my art.
Today, I live on the Wyoming prairie with my husband, surrounded by wide-open skies, wildlife, and the changing beauty of each season. Nature continually reminds me of God's creativity, provision, and attention to even the smallest details.
I love bringing those details to life through realistic oil paintings, watercolors, and pastels. My favorite moments in the studio often come when I step back from a painting and see the personality, light, and life emerging on the canvas. Even after years of creating, I'm still amazed and grateful for the gift God has given me.
For me, art is a way to share what I've experienced and discovered along life's journey. A painting might bring back a treasured memory, offer comfort during a difficult season, or simply make someone smile.
My hope is that when you explore my artwork, you'll find more than something beautiful to hang on your wall. Perhaps you'll discover a piece that speaks to your heart, reflects something meaningful in your own life, and brings a little more peace, hope, or joy into your everyday surroundings.
Thank you for spending a little time in my world. I'm glad you're here.
